PanXchange Launches East African Grain Trading Platform

On July 8, 2014, PanXchange launched the pilot of its East African grain trading platform. Through a contract with USAID Firm, PanXchange customized its online negotiation and trading platform for maize and wheat. The launch was met with positive feedback from farmers, traders and millers. In fact, the original goal was to serve the Kenyan market and expand regionally later, but we have already received expressions of interest from traders in Uganda and Tanzania. PanXchange estimates that the pilot launch will continue at least through August in preparation for a live launch by next crop year.

Update August 26, 2014.  Six weeks into the pilot launch PanXchange has attracted farmers, traders & millers representing over 800,000 tons of grains.
