Founder and CEO – Julie Lerner

Julie Lerner is CEO of PanXchange and leads all aspects of the firm’s operations and strategy. Since founding the business in 2011, PanXchange has become the industry’s leading provider of market structure solutions for OTC commodities.

Julie began her career with Cargill International in Geneva, Switzerland and later became senior trader for the firm’s Latin American sugar markets. In this role she focused on the development of origination markets with successful financing programs, and warehouse and distribution programs.

Julie has deep expertise in other international agricultural and energy markets via her roles in trading and business development with companies including Phibro, XL Financial (weather derivatives) and Sempra Energy Trading (electricity). She specializes in bringing liquidity and efficiencies to thin and/or nascent markets.
Julie is an advisor to several early stage companies and has a 360-degree perspective from entrepreneur to investor, and from smallholder farmers to Fortune 100 executives. She has been awarded two US patents, with three others pending relating to PanXchange’s innovative pricing and trading platform.

Julie speaks rusty Spanish and some French and is passionate about empowering underprivileged girls by providing them with a safe environment to learn and grow. An avid skier, Julie also aspires to hold her own on the golf course. She was selected as a Futures Industry Association Innovator in 2016 and was named one of the Most Admired CEOs by the Denver Business Journal in 2018.

Chief Technology Officer – David Bradley

David Bradley leads PanXchange’s technical design and vision division, while managing the execution of the firm’s technology roadmap.

Prior to joining PanXchange in 2018, David spent 12 years in the London investment banking IT sector, working at Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Morgan Stanley. His focus during this time spanned infrastructure and service provisioning, low-latency trading in electronic markets, and credit risk. He began his career in Silicon Valley, and later moved to Colorado where he spent 16 years working in the technology of the electronic document distribution sector. David is a graduate of the University of California at San Diego with a degree in computer science.

When he is not immersed in IT, David enjoys science – general relativity and the logic processes of the cerebral cortex are two favorite topics. He is also partial to hoppy micro-brews, barbecued anything, plus the delights of bread, wine and cheese. And of course, the Colorado mountain air.

Director of Hemp Markets – RJ Hopp

As Director of Hemp Markets, RJ Hopp is responsible for the firm’s hemp exchange and industry-leading pricing platform. He previously served as a market analyst at PanXchange, extensively researching various commodities (metals, agriculture, energy, and industrial chemicals) as part of the firm’s new business development team.

RJ has extensive experience at PanXchange working on consulting contracts with and for exchanges in Asia, Europe, and Latin America that seek to launch physical marketplaces to enhance commodity derivative contract offerings. RJ brings his passion for both emerging and established markets and an entrepreneurial mindset to the PanXchange team. RJ is a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder with degrees in both economics and finance.

Vice President of Hemp Markets – Alexander Rados

Alexander brings a background in international trade and domestic and international agricultural industries to PanXchange’s hemp markets team where he primarily works with the hemp processors and growers on the platform.

Fluent in Spanish, Alexander has worked in the Latin American fertilizer markets, as well as some time in Europe and Asia, where he worked both as an international trader and in domestic marketing/distribution of specialty fertilizers. Alexander holds a degree in Economics from Florida State University.

Senior Web Developer – Michael Miller

Michael is responsible for creating, implementing and deploying the web components of PanXchange’s trading platforms, as well as its public websites. He has played a key role in designing and developing the firm’s mobile-friendly trading platform, as well as its robust internal reporting and business management applications. Michael is also responsible for ensuring its UI/UX remains intuitive and efficient. In addition to his web development chops, Michael is the firm’s resident expert on air and underwater drone operations.

Country Manager, Uganda – Ronnie Luwero

Ronnie Luwero is responsible for the overall management and development of the PanXchange’s grains and oilseeds business in Uganda, which includes managing clients, price discovery, execution of trades and linkages to trade houses, millers and food/animal feed processors. He brings nearly 10 years of experience as agricultural commodities trader in the East African markets to the role.

Prior to joining PanXchange, Ronnie worked in Luzern, Switzerland for an agricultural trade house in Geneva and as an independent trader and broker in the grains and oilseeds markets.
